Last week I was invited to attend a Marketing Round Table event at The Wedding Salons office in NY. For those of you who haven’t had a chance to get to their website or one of their bridal shows, The Wedding Salon provides luxury event planning and bridal shows. So when I received the invitation from the lovely Tracy I was more then excited. I always love the chance to get to meet and speak with other vendors in the industry( not just other photographers ) and I’m always happy to have more vendors that i trust to refer my brides to! In the past 5 years that i’ve been photographing weddings I realized that its not just photography that I love, its every aspect of the day. Floral design, table design, the details, the coordination the styling that goes into it, I’m so fascinated with every aspect of the day. I believe my style of photography shows how much I love watching the day unfold. So when invited to be a part of an amazing group I was thrilled to say the least.
The moment I got there I met Shana from Cantena Travel in the elevator (she was so kind enough to share some paper with me :-) ) She is a lovely travel agent in the NYC market. I feel that using a travel agent for a wedding is the same as having a planner it can only make things easier and more cost effective.
I also had a chance to meet the beautiful ladies from Flowers of The World not only do they have breath taking floral arrangements they also offer workshops for brides to be to learn to create their own bouquets. ( If any of my brides decide to attend let me know i’ll come!! next one is 5.22.12 ) This also inspired me to maybe have a photography workshop for some of my brides? We could all get together and I could show you some secrets of shooting and using your cameras? If anyone would be interested email me!
Another group I had a chance to meet were the fabulous ladies from Jo Malone. For those of you who don’t know me, I am a FRAGRANCE NUT. I love love love perfumes of all types to the point where its a problem. I have hundreds of samples and at least a dozen full-sized bottles at any given time.Growing up with my aunt in the industry i’ve acquired a great appreciate for a good fragrance. ( if were ever shooting together and you need a sent let me know i WILL have at least a tester to give you) So when Alycia & Stephanie from Jo Malone introduced themselves to me I was trying to hold back my glee ( and not to beg them for a huge 4 wick Pine & Eucalyptus candle ) Anywayyy… I felt it super appropriate for them to be there because I think Jo Malone is a great scent to have on your wedding day.
I was also very excited to meet Rudy from Crossing Midnight Entertainment because I’m always being asked for D.j or band Recommendations
Last but not least I had a chance to meet Jon Rivera from Jon Rivera Foto I’m always extra excited to meet other photographers who have similar style to me. I think its very inspirational to sit down and have a conversation with someone in the same business who is so talented. Jon Recently moved here from California and has the most beautiful portfolio i’ve seen in some time. We had a chance to speak for a little while after the round table meeting and I can’t say anything but great things, and I’m more then excited to work together in the future!
So all in all I had an amazing day in the city and I’m more then excited and inspired then ever to get this season in gear! Hopefully this post is helpful to anyone planning its full of great vendors and resources!
I hope everyone has an amazing spring weekend!
I’ll leave you with a photo from my day!
